Your journey begins in Granada, one of the oldest cities in Central America, known for its cobbled streets, colourful facades and surrounding natural wonders. You take a boat trip through the lush isletas and marvel at the volcanic fire of Masaya before you have time to explore the city on your own. You then cross Lake Nicaragua to the island of Ometepe, where nature, relaxation and hikes under the two volcanoes await you.
After your stay on the island, you will travel further west to León, the cultural centre of Nicaragua. Here you will immerse yourself in the city's eventful history, climb active volcanoes and even try your hand at spectacular volcano boarding.
Your journey ends back in Managua, where you can reflect on the unforgettable contrasts of fire, tropical nature and the coast - impressions that make this diverse country so special.
Day 1: Arrival in Managua - onward journey to Granada
After your arrival at Managua airport, you will be warmly welcomed and taken to Granada by private transfer. The colonial city will delight you with its colourful houses and relaxed atmosphere. Depending on your arrival time, you will have time for a first stroll through the historic streets.

Day 2: Granada - Isletas & Masaya volcano by night
In the morning, you will take a boat tour through the Isletas of Granada - a fascinating archipelago of small islands in Lake Nicaragua, surrounded by tropical nature.
A special highlight awaits you in the evening: a visit to the active Masaya volcano. You will experience the impressive view into the crater and - depending on the activity - glowing lava in the dark.

Day 3: Granada - Free day
Today is free for you to discover Granada at your own pace. Stroll through the colourful streets, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere or take a break in one of the charming cafés.
Optionally, you can take a trip to the Laguna de Apoyo or explore the cloud forest of the Mombacho volcano and experience the diverse nature of the region.

Day 4: Granada - Ometepe
Today you continue your journey to the island of Ometepe, one of Nicaragua's most impressive natural destinations. After a transfer to the harbour, you will cross Lake Nicaragua by ferry and enjoy your first views of the island's two striking volcanoes.
On arrival, you will be taken to your accommodation surrounded by tropical nature. The rest of the day is at your leisure - perfect for arriving and enjoying the special tranquillity of the island.

Day 5: Ometepe - Free day
Enjoy a free day on the island of Ometepe and organise it entirely according to your own ideas. Whether it's a tour of the island, a horse riding excursion, a kayak tour or a visit to the impressive San Ramón waterfall - the possibilities are endless.
The combination of tropical nature, volcanic landscapes and a relaxed atmosphere makes this day ideal for actively discovering the island or simply enjoying the peace and quiet.

Day 6: Ometepe - Maderas volcano hike
Today, an active nature experience awaits you on the island of Ometepe. Together with an experienced guide, you will go on a hike on the Maderas volcano, which is known for its dense rainforest and impressive nature.
During the ascent, you will discover tropical vegetation, hear the sounds of the forest and enjoy beautiful views of the island and Lake Nicaragua.
After the hike, you will return to your accommodation. The afternoon and evening are free for you to relax and enjoy the special atmosphere of the island.

Day 7: Ometepe - León
Today you say goodbye to the island of Ometepe and continue travelling west to León. After the ferry crossing across Lake Nicaragua and a subsequent private transfer, you will reach the lively colonial city.
León welcomes you with its very own atmosphere - characterised by history, culture and creative life. The rest of the day is free for you to arrive or to gather your first impressions of the city.

Day 8: León
Today you will discover León on a guided city tour. You will explore the colonial historic centre, visit impressive churches and learn more about the city's eventful history and cultural life.
You will have free time in the afternoon. An optional excursion to the nearby Pacific beaches of Las Peñitas is available - ideal for a relaxing end to the day by the sea.

Day 9: León - Volcano adventure
Today, an unforgettable adventure awaits you in the impressive volcanic landscape around León. You will go on a hike at the El Hoyo volcano and then experience the unique volcano boarding at Cerro Negro - a real highlight for active travellers.
The combination of spectacular nature, adrenalin and extraordinary impressions makes this day a special experience on your trip.

Day 10: Departure
After eventful days full of adventure, nature and cultural impressions, it's time to say goodbye to Nicaragua today.
