Tamarindo beach

Tamarindo beach is one of the most popular and most beautiful on Costa Rica's Pacific coast. With its light-coloured, soft sand and gently sloping shore, it is ideal for swimming, sunbathing and walking. The beach is particularly charming in the late afternoon when the sky turns a warm golden colour. The relaxed atmosphere, lined with palm trees and small beach bars, makes it the perfect place to relax in comfort.

Marina Las Baulas

The Marino Las Baulas National Park protects valuable coastal and marine ecosystems, including one of the most important nesting areas for the rare leatherback turtle. Visitors can experience the impressive egg-laying of these sea turtles between October and February during guided night-time observations. In addition to the coast, the park also includes mangroves, estuaries and a rich bird life. This protected area is an impressive example of how nature and sustainability go hand in hand in Costa Rica.

El Viejo

The extensive El Viejo wetlands are located slightly inland near Filadelfia and are one of the most biodiverse natural areas in the region. On boat trips through the lagoons, visitors can discover caimans, howler monkeys, iguanas and numerous bird species in the wild. The reserve is part of a traditional hacienda, which also offers cultural insights and a typical Costa Rican lunch. It is an ideal excursion destination for anyone who wants to combine nature observation and authenticity.

Las Catalinas

The Las Catalinas viewpoint offers a spectacular view over the rugged Pacific coast and the deep blue sea. Especially at sunset, the place is transformed into a picturesque backdrop with unique photo potential. The journey leads through small, charming coastal villages - ideal for a half-day excursion with culinary breaks. If you like, you can combine the excursion with a visit to the stylish village of the same name, Las Catalinas.

Tamarindo Estuary

The Tamarindo Estuary is a valuable ecosystem that stretches from the beach inland and is home to dense mangrove forests. On a quiet kayak or boat tour, you can experience the fascinating wildlife up close - including iguanas, monkeys, herons and even crocodiles. The tranquillity and diversity of this landscape offer an exciting contrast to the lively coastal life of Tamarindo. This nature experience is perfect for travellers who want to discover tropical wilderness in comfort.
