This self-drive tour allows you to discover Panama on your own. You start in the dynamic capital Panama City and then travel through varied landscapes along the Pacific coast and into the mountainous regions of the country.

In the Valle de Antón, you will experience a green volcanic landscape and go on an e-bike tour through the valley. Continue to the tranquil beaches of Pedasí and Santa Catalina, the perfect starting point for a nature adventure in Coiba National Park. Coffee plantations, spectacular cloud forests and hikes over suspension bridges await you in Boquete.

The trip ends back in Panama City with an excursion to Lake Gatún and an indigenous community - an authentic insight into the culture and nature of Panama.

Day 1: Panama City

Welcome to Panama. After your arrival at the international airport, you will be met by a driver and taken to your accommodation in the capital. During the journey, you will get a first impression of Panama City - a fascinating mix of modern skyscrapers, colonial history and tropical nature.

The rest of the day is free for you to arrive at your leisure. Perhaps take your first walk along the waterfront promenade or enjoy dinner with a view of the city skyline.

Day 2: Panama City

Today you will discover the highlights of Panama City. On a guided tour through the historic Casco Viejo, you will stroll past pastel-coloured façades, small squares and colonial churches that tell of the country's eventful history.

You will then visit the famous Panama Canal. From a visitor platform, you can watch as huge cargo ships glide slowly through the locks - a fascinating interplay of technology and nature.

The afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps enjoy a stroll along the waterfront promenade or round off the evening in one of the city's restaurants.

Day 3: Panama City - El Valle de Antón

Your road trip through Panama begins today. In the morning, you pick up your hire car and drive into the green mountain landscape of the interior.

Your destination is El Valle de Antón, a charming village in an extinct volcanic crater, surrounded by tropical nature and rolling hills. In the afternoon there is time for a first stroll through the village or a visit to the local market.

Day 4: El Valle de Antón

Today you will discover the green volcanic landscape around El Valle de Antón in an active way. On a guided e-bike tour, you will cycle through the valley, past tropical vegetation, small waterfalls and viewpoints. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this special place on the way.

The rest of the day is at leisure. Perhaps visit the orchid garden, relax in the thermal springs or stroll through the small artisan market.

Day 5: El Valle de Antón - Pedasí

Today your journey continues to the Pacific coast. The journey through rural regions of Panama takes you to the charming coastal town of Pedasí, known for its relaxed atmosphere and its proximity to unspoilt beaches.

In the afternoon, there is time for a first stroll through the town or along the coast. Perhaps enjoy the sunset by the sea and round off the day with a fresh fish dish.

Day 6: Pedasí

Today is entirely at your own pace. Relax on the tranquil beaches of the region or explore the small coastal town.

Day 7: Pedasí - Santa Catalina

Today you continue your road trip along the Pacific coast. The route takes you through small villages and varied landscapes to Santa Catalina, a relaxed coastal town and starting point for excursions to Coiba National Park.

Day 8: Santa Catalina

Day 9: Coiba National Park

A special nature experience awaits you today. On a boat tour, you will explore the Coiba National Park, a UNESCO marine reserve with impressive biodiversity.

While snorkelling, you will discover colourful coral reefs, tropical fish and, with a bit of luck, turtles or dolphins. The remote islands and clear water make this day one of the highlights of the trip.

Day 11: Santa Catalina - Boquete

Day 12: Boquete

Today you will discover one of Panama's best-known specialities: coffee from the mountains of Boquete. During a visit to a traditional coffee plantation, you will learn more about the cultivation, harvesting and processing of the beans.

During the tour, you will learn about the special climatic conditions that make the coffee from this region so unique. Of course, this also includes a tasting session where you can try different flavours.

The rest of the day is at leisure. Perhaps take a stroll through the town or enjoy a freshly brewed coffee in one of the small cafés.

Day 13: Boquete

The mountain region around Boquete is known for its impressive cloud forests and biodiversity. Today you will go on a hike through this green landscape, crossing suspension bridges that offer beautiful views of forests and valleys.

With a bit of luck, you may spot exotic birds or other animals that are at home in this special ecosystem along the way. The fresh mountain air and lush vegetation make this day an intense nature experience.

Day 14: Boquete - Panama City

Today you leave the mountain landscape of Boquete and drive back to the capital Panama City. The journey takes you once again through varied landscapes with green valleys, small villages and sweeping views.

On arrival in Panama City, you return your hire car. The rest of the day is at leisure. Perhaps use the time for a walk along the Amador Causeway or enjoy dinner with a view of the impressive city skyline.

Day 15: Panama City

Today, an excursion takes you into the tropical nature around Lake Gatún, which is part of the Panama Canal. On a boat trip through the green island world, you may be lucky enough to spot different species of monkeys living in the trees along the shore.

You will then visit an indigenous Emberá community. Here you will learn more about their traditions, handicrafts and everyday life in the rainforest. In the afternoon you return to Panama City, where the evening is at leisure.

Day 16: Departure

Your journey through Panama ends today. Depending on your departure time, you may still have time for a last walk or a coffee with a view of the city skyline.
