On our 12-day cycle tour, you will discover western and central Cuba in a sporty way and still have enough time to relax at the individual stops and sightsee along the way. Experience Cuba by bike and discover the country's most fascinating places. Start in the historic capital Havana and cycle through the lush Viñales Valley, to the pristine beaches of Cayo Jutías and on to the architectural beauty of Cienfuegos and Trinidad. Immerse yourself in the rich history of Santa Clara and enjoy the vibrant culture and intoxicating rhythm of Havana. This Cuba vacation combines physical activity with cultural experiences and offers a unique perspective on Cuba's diverse landscapes and cultural heritage.
Day 1: Havana
Welcome to Cuba! We can organize a transfer to your accommodation (optional) if you do not wish to arrange your own transport. Depending on your arrival time, you will have some time to explore Havana after moving into your accommodation.

Day 2: Havana
At 8:30 a.m., you will meet your German-speaking tour guide and begin your walking tour through La Habana Vieja, the historic heart of the city founded in the 16th century. After lunch in a local restaurant, visit the cultural project Callejón de Hamel, designed by artist Salvador González and known for its colorful murals and sculptures. The rest of the day is free for your own activities.

Day 3: Havana - Viñales
Pick up your Cuba bike at a bike workshop and ride into the Viñales Valley. There you will see tobacco and grain plantations as well as endemic flora and fauna. After lunch, continue your journey by bike and then take the bus through the narrow streets to your hotel in Viñales.

Day 4: Viñales - Cayo Jutías
After breakfast, cycle through tobacco and pineapple fields on your way to Cayo Jutías. The nearly traffic-free roads and beautiful scenery make for a relaxing ride. After arriving, enjoy lunch on the beach and spend the afternoon swimming or exploring the area on your own.

Day 5: Viñales
Today's cycling tour takes you deeper into the tobacco fields of Viñales. Your guide will explain the growing, drying, and rolling process of tobacco leaves, and you will have the opportunity to buy hand-rolled cigars ("Puros") directly from local farmers.

Day 6: Viñales - Cienfuegos
Continue your journey to Cienfuegos, also known as the Pearl of the South. Along the way, visit Guamá, where you'll enjoy a boat ride on the Laguna del Tesoro and see a reconstructed Taíno village. You may also visit a crocodile farm (optional). In the afternoon, explore the colonial city of Cienfuegos by bicycle.

Day 7: Cienfuegos - Trinidad
Cycle along the foothills of the Sierra del Escambray, Cuba's second-highest mountain range, and enjoy views of lush greenery and mountain landscapes. Upon arrival in Trinidad, the evening is yours to relax or enjoy live Cuban music at the "Casa de la Trova" or dance the night away at the "Las Cuevas" disco.

Day 8: Trinidad
In the morning, take a guided walking tour through Trinidad, one of Cuba's most charming colonial cities. Admire the marble mansions, cobblestone streets, and beautifully preserved architecture that tell the story of the island's sugar era. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore on your own or take an optional beach excursion to Playa Ancón.

Day 9: Trinidad
Today's cycling tour takes you through the Valle de los Ingenios, once home to over 50 sugar mills. Ride past sugarcane fields and stop at the historic Torre Iznaga, which you can optionally climb for a breathtaking view of the valley. Return to Trinidad in the afternoon.

Day 10: Trinidad - Santa Clara
Today's stage takes you through the beautiful mountain scenery of the Sierra del Escambray. Take a break in Topes de Collantes at an altitude of about 800 meters before continuing through stunning landscapes to Santa Clara.

Day 11: Santa Clara - Havana
Ride your final kilometers toward Havana. You'll cycle about 45 km, and the remainder of the journey will be by bus. Back in the capital, there's time to visit museums, palaces, and colonial squares or simply soak up Havana's unique atmosphere.

Day 12: Havana
Depending on your flight time, you may have the morning free for last-minute shopping or sightseeing in Old Havana. We can arrange an optional transfer to the airport or to your beach extension in Varadero.

On this cycle tour through the west and central region of Cuba, you will spend the night in carefully selected hotels. In Trinidad, you will enjoy the hospitality of cozy private accommodation. Breakfast is included in the hotels, and you can also pay for your breakfast in cash on site in the private accommodation.
