Sirena Station

Sirena Station is located in the remote centre of Corcovado National Park and is the most species-rich area of the entire protected area. Numerous hiking trails intersect here, leading through various habitats - from dense primary forest to open clearings and river courses. Tapirs, howler monkeys, coatis, macaws and numerous bird species can be observed up close with a little patience and an experienced guide. The centre offers simple accommodation and enables multi-day tours into a natural world that is rarely found today.

La Llorona

La Llorona is one of the most impressive waterfalls on the Pacific coast and falls spectacularly over a steep cliff directly onto the beach. The sight of the roaring water hitting the sand, nestled in unspoilt rainforest, is simply overwhelming. The hike there is challenging, but extremely scenic and full of wildlife encounters. A natural wonder awaits you at your destination, radiating power and tranquillity at the same time - a place that will stay in your memory for a long time.

Río Claro

The Río Claro meanders crystal clear through the rainforest, forming small pools along the way that are ideal for swimming or cooling off after a hike. The calm water, surrounded by lush greenery and exotic sounds, offers a welcome break in the middle of the wilderness. With a bit of luck, animals such as monkeys, coatis and colourful birds can also be spotted along the riverbank. This idyllic place combines the enjoyment of nature with a feeling of complete seclusion.

Los Patos Station

Los Patos Station is one of the most remote entrances to Corcovado National Park and offers a hike through some of the oldest rainforests in the country. Real primary forest awaits you here - giant trees, lianas, dense vegetation and an almost closed green sky. The biodiversity is impressive and the paths lead past rivers, rocks and hidden clearings. If you want to experience the original rainforest in all its vigour, this is the right place for you.

Pie de la Cuesta

Pie de la Cuesta is a quiet stretch of beach that is ideal for relaxation. It is known for its impressive sunsets that bathe the sky in vibrant colours. History of the place and interesting facts

Corcovado National Park was founded in 1975 and marked the beginning of a consistent rethink in Costa Rica's environmental policy. Previously threatened by gold prospectors and loggers, the area was permanently protected thanks to national and international conservation efforts. Today, the park is considered a model project for successful rainforest protection. The combination of ecological diversity and strict access regulations makes Corcovado one of the most valuable ecosystems in Central America.

Culture

The national park is surrounded by small, traditional communities that are strongly committed to sustainable tourism and nature conservation. Many locals work as trained nature guides or run ecologically managed accommodation. The culture in this region is closely linked to the rhythm of nature - characterised by respect, mindfulness and a deep local connection. Traditional knowledge about medicinal plants and wildlife is actively passed on here.
